Become a morning person this summer – tips that really WORK

Your alarm goes off. You snooze it. Your alarm goes off. Your alarm goes off. You snooze it.

Before you know it, you’re late for work – for the third day in a row.

We get it – mornings are HARD. Especially when you’re waking up for work – or other adult
responsibilities. BORING!

But mornings don’t have to be difficult. In fact, they can even be enjoyable (GASP! We said it).
As the saying goes – win the morning, win the day. And changing your mindset will change not just each
day – but your entire life.

1. WHATEVER MAKES YOU HAPPY – DO THAT.

 

Start the day doing something you enjoy, whether it be listening to your favourite music, reading a chapter of your favourite book or simply scrolling through Instagram. Waking up and spending the first 20-30 minutes to yourself, doing something that makes you truly happy will set you up for a happy day ahead.

2. KEEP YOUR ROUTINE IN CHECK.

 

Getting enough sleep really is the key to waking up on time – every time.
This article isn’t about helping you sleep – but it is about setting a routine that sticks.
Try to get to bed at the same time every night of the week (even on weekends). Your body clock is no joke and it will begin to understand what time your body is ready to start winding down, falling to sleep…. and waking up the next morning.  You may even start to wake up naturally without your alarm clock. Throw that baby in the bin! (Okay, maybe don’t… just in case ).

Here at Vitality, we run our group fitness sessions both morning and night. Our early morning classes usually run from 6am onwards so you can be in and out and have your workout ticked off the daily to-do list before you even go to work!

Our gym floor is also open 24/7, so if you prefer to do your own thing – you can come in at whatever time suits you best (so long as it’s early).
Being surrounded by other early birds will no doubt begin to rub off on you! Give it a go once – what’s the worst that could happen?
